The squadron has an annual budget to be able to cover the costs of running the program at the local level. These costs include everything from the rental of our facilities, to the transportation to many of the events, to food for bush weekend, to training supplies. The overall cost to the squadron works out to approximately $400-$450 per cadet per year.

The Canadian Armed Forces cover the complete costs of the summer camps as well as all of the training and token salaries to the squadron staff members. The CF also provide targeted funding for some of the squadron’s annual operational expenses, however, this only covers a small portion of the costs at the squadron level.

Since there are no fees to the cadet or parents, fund raising is required to help cover the operational costs. The Sponsoring Committee is tasked with the organization of such events and the cadets are highly encouraged to participate.

Common fund raising efforts include:

  • Tag days
  • Spaghetti Dinner and Auction
  • Cookie dough sales
  • Pop can collection
  • AMC movie ticket sales
  • Golf Tournament and Auction

Other sources of funding come from:

  • Voluntary Donations
  • Corporate Sponsorship

As a charitable organization, we are able to issue tax receipts for any donations received.
